Oh and in case you wondered why no group shots with me in them - it's because some fat middle-aged woman wearing the same dress as me appears to have taken my place in the photos.  I just hope the professional ones are more flattering!

Sorry, it's been a while.
Since my last post, I've been to London to visit, no not the Queen, but not far away - I went to the Mall Galleries for the Prism exhibition. I think it was the best Prism exhibition I've visited - lots of pieces I really loved. I'm a bit late posting about this, plus I didn't take any photographs, so if you didn't manage to get to the exhibition and haven't seen the work, - have a look on here

Although I didn't buy any of the exhibited pieces, I WAS tempted in the shop and bought this fab textile heart made by Wendy Greene

I really enjoyed my day in town, I had a wander through Trafalgar Square ...

and along Regent Street. I didn't buy anything in here, but I love the window display
It's just a pity about getting my car towed away ...........
After that, I had a few days in Norfolk at my parents.

While there I went on a 'Tyvek Flower' workshop with Gina, with the Flying Geese - my sister's patchwork group. It was a lovely day and I made a flower and a seedpod. There are more photos from the workshop in Gina's blog A stay in Norfolk always means a trip to Holt and the inevitable purchases in charity and vintage shops.Look at all my little treasures! The small pot seems to be handmade, with the maker's name scratched in the bottom. I'd love to know who 'Win' is!When I finally finished shopping and browsing, I had my first-ever walk on Holkham Beach - quite late in the afternoon so most people had gone home, but the sun was still shining. And, needless to say, the wind was still blowing. And finally, after a session on the Embellisher with my embroidery group, Spectrum, I played about and made a few little bits and pieces. That's it - not many words, fed up with Blogger today - it's taken ages to get the pictures in the right places, so I've had enough now.


Oh, and I lied about the car. If that beautiful pink car (which I realise isn't a cadillac) was mine, I'd never leave it on it's own.

Kid's Parties R Us!

I can't believe it's been over a week since my last post - where does the time go? Despite the snow I managed to get to City and Guilds last week, where we did colour mixing with stitch - and not much homework to do because I finished most of it in class! In the evening I went to the Knit and Wine (or should that be Whine?) at a local pub in the town. We nearly got mixed up with the Reptile group who meet in the same pub on the same night. I must admit I was a bit anxious, and thoroughly checked my knitting bag for poisonous snakes when I got home. Anyway, the knitters seemed a nice group and we will go again next month, although I may go prepared with snake venom antidote, just to be on the safe side.

This week I've had my student nurse niece to stay for a few days (not connected with the previous paragraph - she hasn't covered snake bites yet) which was lovely, and we made earrings, and shopped and watched countless episodes of Friends. Oh, and she did lots of studying too, obviously.

Today I ran a birthday party for five 8 year old girls - I had pledged it in a fundraising Auction at our local cricket club. We did Silk painting and jewellery making. Here are the silk paintings they did, which I think turned out brilliantly

and two of the memory wire bracelets - I forgot about photographing them until most of them had gone home. Anyway, they all seemed to enjoy it, and I did too.


Oh, and just for a change, the Mighty O's beat Crewe 1-0 yesterday! Not that anyone is interested, but I thought it was important to mention their victory as well as their failures.
